This course will focus on the nature of grammatical relations and Case marking in the languages of the world and the relationship between the two. THe course will be both theoretical and typological: it will consider data from a wide range of languages, and it will consider a number of different theoretical approaches to these topics. The goal is to acquaint the participants with the different theoretical solutions to the descriptive problems raised by different types of languages. | |
