The International Seminar Viva Lingua Viva II (VLV 2) will be held in Belém/PA from June 21st to 24th, 2022, with the theme: LANGUAGE REVITALIZATION: Why and how to do it? The event is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Linguistics (ABRALIN) and will be organized by the Federal University of Pará and the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Viva Lingua Viva II is a space to draw attention to the low vitality situation of most original languages ​​and to the need for investment and enhancement of linguistic revitalization processes. The event aims to give visibility to the various processes of language revitalization, underway in the country and in the world, highlighting the importance of guaranteeing the survival of languages, especially considering the current world context and in Brazil, in particular, in which the minorized languages have been silenced, exponentially.

The event will bring together members of indigenous communities, professors, students and researchers from universities, museums and other academic and research institutions, to discuss, exchange and encourage the development of actions for the preservation, revitalization and recovery of indigenous and minority languages.
