The Brazilian Linguistics Association regrets reporting the death of Prof. Alfredo Bosi, another victim of Covid-19.

Alfredo Bosi is considered one of the greatest literary critics in Brazil and the world. He retired as a professor of Brazilian literature at USP. He was an essayist and member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Alfredo Bosi was also recognized for his social, cultural, educational, and environmental militancy, for having always supported the struggles for the re-democratization of the country and defended the reduction of social inequalities, the ethical and freedom of thought and research principles of the university, respect for popular cultural traditions, the appreciation of basic education and its professionals and the struggle for the environment, especially concerning the conservation of ecosystems.
